Tolkien Mythology

Tolkien created more than one mythology. His earliest, nearly complete mythology was the so-called 'Mythology for England', which was to be published as The Book of Lost Tales.

Although Tolkien abandoned that first mythology, he went on to create other mythologies about Elves, Numenor, and Hobbits. In the 1940s he invented a new mythology about Middle-earth which reused ideas from the earlier mythologies.
